Welcome to Bingham Academy Guidance Counseling. As the guidance counselor, I assist secondary students with their schedules, course selection, university/post-secondary preparation, and more. High School Portfolio and Counselor Recommendation Questionnaire – Due 3 weeks prior to needing the Counselor Recommendation letter

TESTING

SAT

Bingham is an SAT testing center.  Registration for the SAT must be done online at https://www.collegeboard.org/

The 2022-2023 dates on which Bingham will host an SAT are: October 1st 2022, December 3rd 2022, and the Spring date that is still to be determined. ICS in Old Airport also hosts the SAT multiple times each year.

ACT

Bingham is not an ACT testing center though you may be able to take it at ICS in Old Airport. Registration for ACT must be done online at www.actstudent.org

TOEFL

Universities may require the TOEFL (Test of English Fluency) exam for international students who do not have a US or Canadian passport. Information about the TOEFL can be found at www.ets.org/toefl Check with your universities to see what is required. Some may accept a letter from BA regarding English proficiency. If this is the case a letter from the guidance counselor must be requested by the student.

PSAT

The guidance office internally administers the PSAT each year and is required for all students in Grades 10 and 11. Registration is done internally; no external registration is required. These tests are taken during the school day and a fee of approximately $20 is assessed to the student’s school account.

 
 

 
 

SCHOOL DOCUMENTS AND FORMS

ONLINE COURSES

Students wishing to take an online course during Grade 11 and/or 12 must gain approval from administration. They must also research and pay for the course themselves.

SUBJECT SELECTION

Subject Selection evening is held in March or April each year. All students in Grades 8, 10, and 11 should attend to be informed on how to select courses and which courses will be available.
